Abstracts and session proposals

Our aim is to foster discussions among scholars working on the history of science, medicine and technology on any disciplinary theme or historical period. We welcome submissions from scholars at all career stages – graduate students are warmly welcomed to apply! – and from scholars based in all parts of the world.

Proposals may take the form of panels, individual paper submissions, or roundtable discussions.

In order to encourage discussion, we suggest that papers within a “traditional” panel not exceed twenty minutes in length. The language of the conference is English.

Proposals should be submitted according to the guidance on this  website, which will be updated with practical information on the conference.


Session proposals should include:

• a brief description of the panel’s aims (150 words maximum),

• a session title,

• a title and abstract for each paper in the session (250 words maximum per paper),

• full contact details of the organizer and all speakers,

• details of any specific audiovisual equipment required.

Individual paper proposals should include:

• a paper title,

• an abstract (250 words maximum),

• up to five keywords,

• full contact details,

• details of any specific audiovisual equipment required.
